BETTY WHITE………………..

GOD BLESS YOU MY CAPTAIN

But oh man know what would have made this even better; if Old Once-ler done that too with Lorax. That woulda been perfect.

“Yeah baby that’s what I’m talkin’ about!”

Since everyone really liked my post about the Once-Ler, I really wanted to talk about one of my favorite characters from this movie, Ted… Honestly, I love Ted and I love how the producers were able to make such a memorable person out of what use to be a nameless character. But anyways, what I love the most about Ted is his tremendous transformation through out the movie. When Ted first goes to visit the Once-Ler he has only one goal, find a tree so that he can win his girl. I admire this about Ted because, I know anyone else would have given up before they even left the city. However, because Ted’s love for Audrey was so strong, he  risked his own life to find her a tree just so he could see her happy (and hopefully win a kiss) After Ted nearly dies like five times, he still continues on his journey and he talks to the Once-ler. Imagine sitting in that fowl smelling place, feeling scared and talking to a complete stranger, still Ted listened to Once-Ler’s story though he didn’t seem very interested… at first. However, I noticed that the second time that Ted visited the Once-Ler he seemed a tad bit excited, he wasn’t asking about the trees as much and he genuinely seemed interested in hearing the rest of Once-Ler’s story. Even after having the run in with O’Hare and having the town’s exit blocked Ted still went completely out of his way to see Once-Ler. It is the third visit that I really love because, #1. Ted brought Once-Ler the marshmallows which meant that he was paying attention to what Once-Ler said and I noticed that Grandma Norma was the one who bought the marshmallows earlier so this hints at a relationship perhaps between Once-Ler and Grandma Norma. #2. Ted seems very interested in finding out the rest of the story. He even looks a little excited, you can tell that Once-Ler is no longer a stranger to Ted anymore and that Ted really does care about the story that Once-Ler is telling. After Ted hears the rest of the story you can see the pain in his eyes and I believe he felt sorry for Once-Ler. I think Ted realized that he had another objective rather than just giving the tree to Audrey and it was to help the Once-Ler redeem himself. Ted could have easily planted the tree in secret and then let Audrey have it, but he risked his life once more to plant inform the people of Thneedville and to plant the tree for everyone to see and soon grow to love. Deciding to plant this tree in the middle of town, like the Once-Ler suggested meant that Ted truly wanted to help the Once-Ler. Lastly, just the expression Ted has when he is planting the seed, it is so focused and intense and he doesn’t even realize that Audrey has kissed him until a few moments later. You can tell, that the Ted that had wanted to get a seed so that he could win the girl had changed into a boy who wanted not only to save his city from the greedy hands of O’Hare but also into a boy who went far out of his way to redeem Once-Ler’s broken spirit. Because of Ted, Once-Ler was able to finally forgive himself and because of Ted the city realized that the life that they were living was far from perfect.
I really do love Ted, I think he is a highly underrated character. I believe he was the one with the largest transformation out of all the characters in this movie. Honestly, Ted made this movie for me. I love Once-Ler but if it hadn’t been for Ted I don’t think I would have liked the movie as much as I did. Go Ted!

When Avatars Fall in Love (Kataang/Makorra theme mashup)

Produced by Chongthenomad

Inspired by the Track Team

I decided to take the Kataang theme played at the last scene of ATLA, and the Makorra theme from the last scene from the 2nd episode and mash them together…with a little twist. :D

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFULLLLL…
